Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya thanked the Prime Minister for the support in launching the Mission for Democratic Belarus and invited him to the official opening of the office on 27 February in Brussels. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also spoke about the ongoing trials against journalists, rail partisans, activists, and human rights defenders, and urged for increased support to the repressed and human rights defenders.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also said that many Belarusians may be stripped of their citizenship and called for helping Belarusians obtain temporary documents in the European Union.
Mr. de Kroh and Ms. Tsikhanouskaya discussed Belarus' potential participation in the June summit of the European Political Community in Chișinău. The PM noted the importance of keeping Belarus high on the agenda and agreed on the need for European leaders to discuss and develop a joint strategy vis-a-vis Belarus.
