  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will meet with the President of Poland and leaders of the workers’ movement

    Today Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya arrived in Warsaw, where she will meet Polish President Andrzej Duda, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, senators, and parliamentarians. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya will also hold meetings with universal jurisdiction lawyers, the ByPol team, the Coordination Council, and the National Anti-Crisis Management.

    Also today in the Center of Belarusian Solidarity will be held a joint press conference with the leaders of the workers' movement on the Program of support for repressed and participants of strikes. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will meet with representatives of the Belarusian diaspora and participate in the opening of the monument “Solidarity” at the invitation of the Mayor of Warsaw.

    On Friday Ms. Tsikhanouskaya will travel to Wroclaw together with Tatsiana, sister of Maria Kalesnikava, and the member of the Presidium of the Coordinational Council Volha Kavalkova. There they will meet with the local authorities and take part in the ceremony of the Jan Novak-Yezeran Prize. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will open the exhibition “Wroclaw for Belarus” and the mural dedicated to the struggle of Belarusians for freedom.

    During all meetings, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will raise the issues of assistance to repressed students, doctors, and human rights defenders in Belarus, support for the TV channel Belsat and independent media, launching of cases against accomplices of the regime in the framework of universal jurisdiction. Belarusian leader also plans to discuss the introduction of effective sanctions against the regime and to thank the initiative of the EU Comprehensive Assistance Plan to Belarus.
