A tragedy occurred in Warsaw last week. Belarusian Lizaveta died – doctors could not save her life after a brutal attack, rape, and attempted strangulation.
On March 6 in Warsaw, a march against violence called “Her Name Was Liza” will be held to commemorate the deceased woman. The event will start at 6:00 p.m. at ul. Żurawia, 47 – where the crime took place. Organizers urge participants to dress in black.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Unfortunately, we cannot bring Liza back to life. But we can be her voice, the voice of all women who have experienced violence. Because silence is not an option here.
Dear friends, if you live in Warsaw or can visit the city on March 6, please join the march. Let’s honor Liza’s memory together and make it clear that we do not tolerate violence. As the march organizers write: “Lizaveta walked alone. Now we all must walk together”.
