The meeting was also attended by a representative of the contact group, which has been working on a regular basis at the Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration since 2022 to address migration issues faced by Belarusians.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya urged the politician to facilitate the work of the group to promptly address migration issues. She expressed gratitude to Poland for supporting Belarusians in exile. During the meeting, the parties discussed simplifying migration procedures for Belarusians. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya suggested that Poland could abandon requirements of apostilles and extend the validity periods of legal documents issued to Belarusians, including residence permits and travel documents. She also informed Mr. Duszczyk about the project of the new Belarusian passport, the samples of which will be ready in March.
At the end of the meeting, the Polish Undersecretary of State assured the Belarusian leader that the issues faced by Belarusians will be addressed, and Poland’s support will remain steadfast.
