As part of her first official visit to Moldova, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu. During the meeting, they agreed to bilaterally support the European perspective of Belarus and Moldova on all international platforms. The parties also discussed Moldovan-Belarusian cooperation in developing draft laws for future Belarus. Moldova has experience in anti-corruption legislation and transition to democracy, and the Moldovan side expressed its willingness to share its expertise with democratic Belarus.
A Belarusian-Moldovan conference on neutrality was discussed separately. “Russia's aggression has shown that the strategy of neutrality, which Belarus and Moldova have been adhering to, does not work. To discuss this issue, we have agreed to hold a joint conference”, commented Anatoli Liabedzka, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Advisor for the Constitutional Reform and Interparliamentary Cooperation.
The Speaker emphasized Moldova’s appreciation of Belarusians’ support for Ukraine and increasingly pro-European views. He also joined the campaign in support of Belarusian political prisoners and signed postcards for them.
