The 30th Annual Session of the OSCE PA adopted its final declaration and a series of resolutions on Belarus. Belarus has set a sort of record in the OSCE, with the country being mentioned 64 times in the final declaration.
The OSCE PA made the following provisions regarding Belarus:
- Recognizing Belarus as a co-aggressor state and demanding the regime to cease further assistance to Russian aggression.
- Noting the “soft annexation” of Belarus by Russia.
- Declaring the Lukashenka regime as illegitimate and responsible for supporting the war.
- Demanding the immediate release and rehabilitation of all political prisoners.
- Calling on participating states to support Belarusian civil society initiatives and democratic forces.
Anatoli Liabedzka, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor for Interparliamentary Cooperation, commented on the outcomes of the Annual Session, welcoming the PA’s resolutions on Belarus and thanking its members for support.
