Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya shared information about the recent repression against leaders of Belarusian trade unions, as well as the ongoing persecution and pressure on workers. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya called for supporting Belarusian trade union initiatives, many of which have been forced into exile, and for the release of trade union leaders, including Aliaksandr Yarashuk, Siarhei Antusevich, Henadz Fedynich, Vatslau Areshka, and others.
The parties discussed further action following the ILO's decision to use Article 33 of its Constitution. National governments are called to develop restrictive measures against the Lukashenka regime to protect workers in Belarus and secure the release of prisoners.
