  • Results of the Belarusian Anti-War Movement for April 26

    April 27, 2022

Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus’ regime.

Here is an overview of the Movement on April 26.

    Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians

    • The Dapamoga and DAR initiatives donated blood pressure monitors to a Ukrainian hospital for the treatment of military personnel.
    • The ŻYVI Foundation sent a vehicle with medications and food to Ukraine.
    • The BYSOL Foundation sent two pickup trucks to Ukraine: a Ford Ranger and a Nissan Navara. Belarusians had raised funds for the purchase.
    • Several hundred Belarusians held a rally in Vilnius dedicated to the remembrance of the Chernobyl catastrophe. Belarusians of the Netherlands, Georgia, Belgium, Germany, and other countries also held rallies to support the annual action.
    • Belarusian activist Nasta Bazar gave an interview to the RFE/RL Belarusian service on helping women during the war.
    • The Belarus Kastus Kalinouski battalion volunteers received a van donated by the Belarusians of Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. The van also delivered humanitarian aid to Belarusians.
    • In France, a People's Embassy of Belarus representative had a meeting at the Foreign Ministry of France to discuss the discrimination against Belarusians at French banks and the replacement of passports in the regime’s Embassy.

    Sabotage

    • The Hajun monitoring project released an operational summary on the movements of Russian troops in Belarus for the day and reviewed the Belarusian propaganda coverage of the war in Ukraine. Propagandists in Belarus accused the West and the US of unwillingness to end hostilities and Ukraine of the 8-year-long bombing of Donbas.

    Awareness campaign

    • Volha Dabravolskaya, head of the Center for Belarusan Solidarity legal department, gave an update on when Belarusians will be able to obtain humanitarian visas and residence permits in Poland.
    • The Honest People initiative explained the difference between real patriotism and “patriotism” as the regime sees it and called on Belarusians to distribute leaflets on Belarus' role in the war in Ukraine.
    • ByProsvet made a compilation of the relevant issues of the underground press. Belarusians distribute leaflets across their cities to share honest information about the situation in Belarus and Ukraine.
