Today the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Lithuania Yossef Levy visited the Office of Sviatlana Tskihanouskaya in Vilnius. He explained that the presentation of credentials to Lukashenka by the new Israeli Ambassador to Minsk does not mean support for the actions of Lukashenka's regime. This was done so that Israel could help representatives of the Jewish community in Belarus.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Yossef Levy discussed human rights in Belarus. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya spoke about the increase of violence by the regime and the situation with political prisoners. On behalf of Israel, Levy expressed support for the Belarusian people in their aspirations for democracy and freedom.
