“Belarusians have won today. Free Kaskad neighborhood released white-red-white balloons with the national flag into the sky before going out to the streets. Residents of Kurasoushchyna proudly walked with national symbols around the district and had successfully dispersed in nearby courtyards just a minute before paddy wagons arrived. In Kamennaya Horka and around Dziarzhynski Avenue, people came back again and again, not leaving even after stun grenades explosions.
In Loshytsa and near Maskouski market Belarusians didn’t run away at the sight of OMON – and they simply didn’t know what to do. We see this pattern more and more often: there are less attacks and detentions when people don’t run away. Brave residents of South-West district have even fought a woman off from terrorists and later chased them out of their houses.
At Partyzanskaya, Pushkinskaya and Tractor Plant district people organized a multi-thousand march. People of Chkalauski and Minsk-Mir districts have massively gathered and walked in their district, joining the column that came from Mayakouka. People in Grushauka and Malinauka, Sokal and Baraulyany, Uruchcha and Novaya Baravaya have massively gone out. Residents of Ushod gathered for a ring dance around the Christmas tree next to the National Library.
No exaggeration, the whole Minsk has gone out today. So did the regions! People with national symbols walked in Hrodna, solidarity chains and marches took place in Brest. Zaslaue, Biaroza, Iue, Pruzhany, Staryia Darohi, Lagoisk, Dziarzhynsk, Navapolatsk, Smaliavichy, Vaukavysk, Zhodzina and Pinsk went out. Some other cities, which protest we have yet to discover, also went out.
Right, somewhere as in Liabiazhy law enforcement officials were the majority. Only in such situations they feel the courage to attack people. We all understand that the violence of the regime does not decrease. But we also know that today the regime was not able to prevent people from going to the streets. Today everybody became convinced that these are our districts, our cities and our Belarus. And we are the only ones who could decisively free it”.
