The Coordination Council is a representative body of democratic forces and civil society in Belarus.
The Сouncil was created by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya initiative in August 2020.
Aims of the Council:
- Organizing the process of overcoming the political crisis and ensure social cohesion;
- Protection of the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Belarus.
Coordination Council does not:
- Aim to seize power through unconstitutional means;
- Call for organization or preparation of actions that violate public order.
Since the establishment of the Council, members of its Presidium, core members and members of an expanded assembly have faced massive repressions from the side of Belarusian authorities. The Coordination Council currently operates remotely from Minsk, Vilnius and Warsaw.
