    STATEMENT ON THE MAZYR OIL REFINERY BEING SANCTIONED

    Following the inclusion of the Mazyr Oil Refinery in the EU’s 21st sanctions package, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya released a statement on why this was a consequence of the regime’s actions: “Until 2022, Ukraine was the refinery’s largest and most profitable market. Belarusian gasoline and diesel accounted for up to 50% of the Ukrainian market. But Belarus’s involvement in the war put an end to that”.

    NEW APPLICATION CYCLE FOR THE SVIATLANA TSIKHANOUSKAYA SCHOLARSHIP IN AUSTRIA

    Belarusians can apply for the Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya Scholarship to study at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) in Austria. The program offers up to €15,000 per year for English-taught bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for individuals committed to the values of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. Applications are open until March 31, 2027.

    OVERVIEW OF THE STATE OF BELARUSIAN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE (APRIL–JUNE 2026)

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Education and Science, Pavel Tereshkovich, prepared a policy paper for independent media, the democratic forces, political partners, and international donors, describing the state of Belarusian education and science under repression, militarization, and exile.
