Representatives of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office joined the commemoration in Vilnius of the victims of the Chornobyl tragedy, including Director Dzianis Kuchynski, Parliamentary Cooperation Advisor Anatoli Liabedzka, and Non-Staff Environmental Advisor Dzmitry Kuchuk. Nobel laureate Ales Bialiatski, as well as representatives of environmental NGOs and activists, also took part.

Together with diplomats, they participated in a flower-laying ceremony in memory of one of the largest man-made disasters in history. The event was attended by representatives from Latvia, Hungary, Lithuania, Finland, Italy, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, and the Netherlands.

Dzianis Kuchynski: “Chornobyl is a tragedy that affected the lives of millions, left a deep mark on the history of Belarus, and remains part of our shared memory to this day. Our duty now is to preserve the memory of the victims and the truth about the consequences of this disaster”.
