Today marks the beginning of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s working visit to Munich, where she is participating for the fifth time in the Munich Security Conference – one of the key international platforms that brings together political leaders, diplomats, experts, and representatives of civil society to discuss security in Europe and worldwide.
Belarus’ participation in this discussion is essential, as it will address key issues affecting the region – including the war in Ukraine, Russia’s influence, the use of Belarusian territory, and the regime’s continued policy of keeping the country in a dangerous dependency.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will hold a series of meetings with international partners and take part in discussions and side events. The focus of the visit will be on what matters most to Belarusians today: the release of political prisoners and an end to repression, support for a democratic Belarus as part of regional security, international pressure on the regime, and accountability for its crimes.
