As part of her visit to Portugal, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya held a meeting with José Manuel Barroso, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Concordia Summit and was the politician who invited Ms. Tsikhanouskaya to Portugal. Previously, Mr. Barroso was the President of the European Commission and has frequently commented on issues related to Belarus.
The parties discussed cooperation with the Global South countries, support for Belarusians who find themselves in exile without passports and other legal documents, possible actions by international organizations to promote the release of political prisoners, and tools for exerting pressure on the regime.
