Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Today marks exactly 1500 days since we realized just how many of us there are. So many people who are ready to fight for the freedom and future of our Belarus. Sometimes, it feels like these 1500 days were only about pain, suffering, and loss. And indeed, it has been an incredibly tough time for Belarusians. But we’ve also found something we’ll never lose again. We’ve learned how to stick together and support each other. We’ve discovered that solidarity really is essential. And we’ve realized that together, we’re capable of achieving so much more than we ever thought possible.
Every day of our struggle is a day of fighting for the people who are still in prison. For the people whose lives have been shattered, who have survived torture and are now learning to live again. Behind each of these stories are lives that have been forever changed.
A free Belarus lives in everyone who refuses to turn a blind eye on what’s been going on. In everyone who continues to fight, both inside the country and beyond. And most importantly, a free Belarus lives in every step we take on this path toward freedom”.
