  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with leadership of Polish Chamber of Commerce

    July 15, 2024

    The Belarusian leader is on a working visit to Poland. She held her first official meeting with the leadership of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, the largest independent business organization in Poland, representing around 300,000 businesses.

    The Chamber already collaborates with the Association of Belarusian Business Abroad (ABBA), supports trustworthy Belarusian businesses in Poland, and intends to continue this work.

    During the meeting, the parties agreed on:

    📌 Joint efforts to prevent the discrimination of Belarusians and businesses with Belarusian roots in Poland, including in the banking sector;

    📌 Signing a joint tripartite letter by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, ABBA, and the Polish Chamber of Commerce to the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and the Polish Bank Association;

    📌 Organizing a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and ABBA with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, the Polish Bank Association, and commercial banks in Poland to address issues related to the difficulties Belarusians face in opening accounts, account servicing, obtaining loans, etc.;

    📌 Protecting the interests of Belarusian businesses in Poland by establishing contacts with Polish national and local authorities, entrepreneurs, and media;

    📌 Support from the Chamber of Commerce so that ABBA can join the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry and replace the pro-Lukashenka State Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
