The call with workers
Workers said that across the country there are wage cuts, mass repressions, and dismissals of employees of enterprises – that is, the regime itself leads people to strikes. In turn, strike committees, for example, on “Hrodna Azot”, initiate collective labor dispute procedures to defend colleagues and to oppose illegal dismissals.
“Workers Movement” collected lists of administrations of enterprises that repress employees – they will be transferred to be added to the sanctions lists. The activists also said that the administrations were trying to adapt and circumvent the imposed sanctions. But with new, sectoral sanctions, their options will be exhausted.
The call with medics
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya described the results of recent visits:
– In the Czech Republic, an agreement was reached to expand the program for the rehabilitation of the repressed and the wounded and to discuss possibilities for families of political prisoners to visit for rehabilitation.
– In Germany at a meeting with State Minister Merkel we spoke about the telemedicine project launched by Belarusians – the platform “E-Zdorov'e”, where you can get consultation of a doctor online.
– In Germany there is a support package for the repressed and victims who are in Belarus (including medics), and it has started to be implemented.
Doctors told about the new wave of mass dismissals, blacklists of the Ministry of Health and dismissals for “truancy” – after the entry into force of the new law of the Labour Code, the serving of administrative arrest is not a valid reason to be absent at work.
The consequences of repressions are catastrophic for the whole country: there are not enough doctors everywhere. Therefore, it is already necessary to start preparing a draft of future reform that will help save the medicine in Belarus.
