    October 24, 2022

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu today handed Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya a copy of the document on the recognition of Estonia's independence by the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic. The paper had been found in the archives. The ceremonial handover took place at the Estonian Foreign Ministry.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia said that the country will send a diplomatic representative to Vilnius to work with democratic forces and confirmed that Estonia does not recognize the Lukashenka regime and distinguishes between Belarusians and the regime, as well as between the people of Belarus and Russia.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya arrived in Estonia this morning on a working visit to hold meetings with President Alar Karis, Parliament Speaker Jüri Ratas and university rectors, as well as to address MPs.
