The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Joint Transitional Office, Leslie Miller, the Vice President of Government Affairs at YouTube and Annette Kroeber-Riehl, the Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs at Google. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya expanded upon the problems that Belarusian journalists face while using Google and YouTube services.
During the meeting, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya raised questions that will help solve the problems of the Belarusian language in Google and YouTube services:
– Allow monetization of content in belarusian in Google and YouTube services.
– Allow ads for videos in belarusian on YouTube.
– Stop the misuse of advertisements by the Russian and Lukashenko propaganda.
– Provide access to the independent media channels and websites, proclaimed extremist by the regime, through search engines and other Google services.
