  • Results of the democratic forces’ meeting with deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

    March 25, 2022

MPs from 10 countries are working on a program to ensure security, protection and integration in the EU for Belarusian soldiers who refuse to fight against Ukraine.

At the meeting with Belarusian democratic forces, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada spoke about the initiative launched by parliamentarians from 10 countries. MPs addressed the EU leadership proposing to act as a guarantor for the military personnel who come over to the side of the Ukrainian army. If they do, they should have necessary support, including language training, security, a social package, and integration in any EU country that accepts them.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Representative for the Constitutional Reform and Parliamentary Cooperation Anatoli Liabedzka explained the initiative for Belarusians, specifically addressing Belarusian soldiers and their parents (video in Russian).
