  • Results of the Belarusian Anti-War Movement for June 22

    June 23, 2022

Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus' regime.

Here is an overview of the Movement on June 22.

    Support for Belarusians and Ukrainians

    • Pupils and their parents can use the help of an education assistant at the Center of the Belarusian Solidarity: find a place in a school or kindergarten, prepare documents for educational institutions, talk to school administration, help in conflict situations.
    • Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė in her speech at the Kalinouski Forum said: “Let's not forget the free-spirited Belarusians”. She supported the people of Belarus and Ukraine in their struggle for freedom and emphasized the need for the West to support Belarusians and Ukrainians not only in words.
    • Father and son Kuznetschyks announced a fundraiser. They lived in the embassy for almost two years and were able to escape from Belarus. Both father and son need vision treatment, Uladizislau needs an oncological examination. You can support the fundraising here.
    • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya turned to business representatives: “I understand that Belarusian entrepreneurs are in a minefield. I know the price of both your silence and your words. I understand that this is not a topic for discussion in the comments – write to the email we launched specifically for business issues: [email protected]”.
    • Comedian Slava Komissarenko is holding another charity concert “Belarusians Against the War” in support of Ukraine. It will take place on June 28 at 19:00, tickets available here.

    Resistance

    • Minsk residents of Chyzhouka came out to the rally to say hello to the free Belarusians of Barauliany.
    • Vitsebsk partisans do not give up and hold demonstrations against the war.

    Sabotage

    • The Hajun project monitoring project tracked the movements of Russian troops in Belarus for June 21.
    • Hajun project also reviewed the state propaganda coverage of the war in Ukraine for June 21: propagandists tell about how the Drama Theater (which had been bombed by Russian troops) resumes its work in “liberated” (in fact, almost destroyed) Mariupol.
    • Belaruski Hajun also tells where the Armed Forces of Belarus arrange fortifications along the borders with Ukraine and the EU countries.

    Awareness campaign

    • Yaraslau Ramanchuk and Uladzimir Astapenka answered the most topical questions in Anatoli Liabedzka's anti-war stream.
    • Tsikhanouskaya’s representative on economic reforms explains in numbers what Lukashenka's regime is costing Belarusians: physical exports have decreased by 42.5%, GDP is falling rapidly, sanctions are working.
    • Natallia Dulina, a former lecturer at the Minsk State Linguistic University, told the Otrazhenie blog about the arrests, the war in Ukraine, the Belarusians, and the hope for a happy ending: “They are acting mean. And I feel being right”.
    • The Honest People initiative tells how to set up a parent's YouTube account: which propaganda channels to block, which channels to subscribe to, and how to shield from propaganda.
