  • Legal status for Belarusians and regional security: Dzianis Kuchynski met with Paweł Graś at the Polish Prime Minister’s Chancellery

    October 22, 2026

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Diplomatic Advisor, Dzianis Kuchynski, met in Warsaw with the Head of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s Political Cabinet, Paweł Graś. They discussed support for Belarusians in Poland, the situation surrounding political repression in Belarus, and regional cooperation amid the ongoing crisis.

    Mr. Kuchynski conveyed Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s gratitude to Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the entire Government for their consistent support for the Belarusian people, solidarity, and close cooperation with Belarus’s democratic forces. He also thanked Poland for supporting Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, who is currently based in Warsaw, and for providing the necessary conditions to ensure her safety and enable the Office to operate.

    Mr. Kuchynski paid attention to practical issues facing Belarusians in Poland:

    • legal status and documents: residence permits, international protection, and travel documents;
    • legal rights and opportunities to live, study, and work legally in Poland.

    He stressed that, as repression in Belarus intensifies, Poland remains a vital refuge for those forced to leave their homeland.

    Dzianis Kuchynski briefed the Polish side on the development of contacts between Belarus’s democratic forces and the Ukrainian leadership and the progress achieved in this area. The parties also discussed prospects for further cooperation within the Lublin Triangle format.

    The Polish side reaffirmed its continued commitment to supporting Belarus’s democratic forces.
