  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended the opening of the new Prytuliai Miane shelter in Warsaw

    May 31, 2026

Today, May 30, Prytuliai Miane officially opened a new shelter facility in Warsaw. It offers temporary housing and support to Belarusians forced to flee repression, helping them until they obtain legal status or find permanent accommodation. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended the event and delivered remarks of congratulations and gratitude:

“A sense of comfort comes first and foremost from you — from the atmosphere you create in your shelters. I would like to thank your entire team, which works tirelessly to ensure that every Belarusian who arrives here in difficult circumstances feels welcome and at home. I know how much effort that takes.

You have explained that every situation is different, but you are an example of how people can keep going even in the most difficult conditions. Over the years, the Prytuliai Miane Foundation has become a home and a reliable source of support for many people.

I wish you continued growth and success, good health and strength. I would also like to thank all your partners — the volunteers and ordinary Belarusians who make small contributions every day so that the shelter can continue its work.

On behalf of Belarusians in Poland, I would also like to express our deep gratitude to the Polish Government and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting Belarusians over the years and for maintaining a firm and principled political position”.

The Prytuliai Miane Foundation supports Belarusians in difficult circumstances in Warsaw. It was founded by political refugee Hanna Fedaronak and former political prisoner Alesia Bunevich. Support their work by joining this fundraiser.
