  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya laid flowers at the Shevchenko Monument in Warsaw

    February 26, 2026

    The Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, laid flowers at the Taras Shevchenko Monument in Warsaw on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. Also present at the ceremony were:

    • Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the Cabinet;
    • Pavel Barkouski, Representative for National Revival;
    • Marharyta Vorykhava, Representative for Youth Policy and Students;
    • Valery Matskevich, Chief of Staff.

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya made an address:

    “First of all, I want to say a big thank you to Ukrainians for defending not only Ukraine, not only Belarus – they are defending all of Europe. Through their self-sacrifice and devotion to their country, they set an example for democratic nations of how important it is to preserve independence and resist Russian aggression. They have finally shown the whole world what the so-called ‘Russian world’ truly means.

    I would also like to address the Belarusians who have stood with Ukraine throughout these four years. These are our fighters from the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment and other units. These are our Belarusian volunteers who help civilians and who created the Point of Invincibility in Kyiv. They are the true ambassadors of Belarus in Ukraine today. Of course, I also want to thank the entire Belarusian diaspora, which for four years has supported both the Ukrainian Army and our Belarusian fighters in Ukraine.

    We, Belarusians and Ukrainians, see our future together in Europe. I am grateful to President Zelenskyy that he shares this vision of the future. As he said: ‘The eastern border of Europe runs along the eastern border of Belarus’”.
