Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Easter is a holiday that we usually celebrate together with our families. We invite our relatives for dinner, play egg tapping, and visit our grandparents in their villages to eat the most delicious Easter cakes.
But many Belarusians cannot spend this day with their loved ones. Innocent people are in prisons, enduring persecution and torture. Hundreds of thousands of Belarusians are in exile in different countries and cannot return home to hug their loved ones on Easter.
We are going through a challenging time. Let us not forget that Jesus Christ also suffered to defend the truth. Our strength lies in the light and faith that we carry through the darkness no matter what. In the support we provide to those in need. Our strength is in our kindness and compassion, and no one can ever take it away from us.
Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!”
