The meeting was attended by the Polish Undersecretary of State Bartosz Grodecki, as well as, from the Belarusian side, the Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Representative for the Transit of Power Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Representative for Foreign Affairs Valery Kavaleuski, and Representative for Defense and National security Valery Sakhashchyk.
They discussed the following issues:
- simplifying legalization of stay and migration for Belarusians. The Belarusian side called for making procedures more flexible and faster. Poland’s Interior Ministry has already established a working group that deals with migration issues of Belarusians in Poland.
- issuing alternative documents of the new Belarus. The Belarusian side invited Poland to support the initiative that democratic forces are working on to help thousands of Belarusians who cannot return to Belarus and do not have proper documents for residing and traveling in Europe;
- supporting Belarusian volunteer fighters in Ukraine;
- bringing to justice those responsible for repressions in Belarus and war in Ukraine;
- the internal situation in Belarus, the potential deployment of Belarusian troops in the war against Ukraine, and support for repressed Belarusians.
