Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus' regime.
Here is an overview of the Movement for the week of June 20-26.
Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians
- The resolution, where the European Parliament approves the candidacies of Ukraine and Moldova, mentions Belarus as well. It says that the majority of the people of Belarus, as well as the people of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, demonstrate “aspirations to live in a free, sovereign and democratic country” and “oppose the Russian-backed regime of Lukashenka”.
- FreeShop Fundacja ŻYVI sent humanitarian aid to the charitable foundation "Z Odesa v Serci".
- A conference on Belarus was held in the European Parliament for the first time since 2020. The Prime Ministers of Poland and Lithuania, European deputies, representatives of the Coordinating Council and Tsikhanouskaya’s Office, as well as Belarusian media, human rights activists and NGOs spoke at the event.
- The Sport Solidarity Foundation donated a specialized quadcopter to the 66th reconnaissance battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- Tsikhanouskaya’s representative Valery Kavaleuski spoke about the incident with the detention of human rights activist Anisiya Kazlyuk: she was released, the procedure for restoring her legal status in Ukraine will be opened for her.
- Symbal.by, a store with national symbols and folk-inspired merch, is back – their goods can now be ordered on the Redbubble marketplace.
- The European Union will continue to impose sanctions against Aliaksandr Lukashenka's regime and support civil society in Belarus, said EU Ambassador Dirk Schuebel on June 21 at the Kalinouski Conference in the European Parliament
- Pupils and their parents can use the help of an education assistant at the Center of the Belarusian Solidarity: find a place in a school or kindergarten, prepare documents for educational institutions, talk to school administration, help in conflict situations.
- Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė in her speech at the Kalinouski Forum said: "Let's not forget the free-spirited Belarusians”. She supported the people of Belarus and Ukraine in their struggle for freedom and emphasized the need for the West to support Belarusians and Ukrainians not only in words.
Resistance
- Belarusians of Barauliany came out for a picket to remind: Belarus will become a free country.
- Minsk residents of the Chkalauski region thanked Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: "Two years ago we made our choice. It seemed random then, but now it's clear that if it was a chance, it was a happy one".
- Minsk residents of Chyzhouka came out with a picket in support of political prisoner Maryia Uspenskaya.
- Vitsebsk partisans do not give up and hold demonstrations against the war.
Awareness campaign
- A new issue of the leaflet Protestnaya Belarus was released, telling about wiretapping of all foreign embassies by the security forces, book seizures, "patriotic education", etc.
- A new leaflet Protest Homiel tells about the compulsory subscription of Homiel residents to propaganda newspapers, showing off in Rahachou, etc.
- A new underground leaflet Word of Belarusians was launched. In the first issue, they write about how Belarusian enforcement officers torture refugees in Bruzgi, what is wrong with the upcoming pension reform, how much food costs in peaceful Minsk and war-torn Kyiv, and how the trial of Vaukavysk entrepreneur Mikalai Autukhovich goes.
- Tsikhanouskaya’s representative on economic reforms explains in numbers what Lukashenka's regime is costing Belarusians: physical exports have decreased by 42.5%, GDP is falling rapidly, sanctions are working.
- The Honest People initiative tells how to set up a parent's YouTube account: which propaganda channels to block, which to subscribe to, and how to finally shield from propaganda.
