“Today the UN General Assembly said a decisive 'no' to the Lukashenka regime in the UN Security Council election. Only 38 countries cast their votes for it, while Slovenia received a convincing 153 votes. For the first time since the 2020 election triggered the crisis, countries globally had an opportunity to speak out about their attitude toward the illegal regime. 153 states voted against the dictatorship and lawlessness in Belarus.
This is what the international community thinks of how the Lukashenka regime violates human rights and international law, starts armed aggression against Ukraine, and places alien nuclear weapons on the territory of our country. The consequences of its actions are felt throughout Belarus and in neighboring countries. They affect global interest as well. This testifies to whether the world believes the Lukashenka regime can be a reliable international partner for other countries – and most countries do not.
Belarus will definitely be elected to the UN Security Council – as long as we free it from dictatorship, unwanted military presence, and dependence on foreign interests, and build a democratic country.”
