Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the leaders of Die Grünen, Britta Haßelmann and Katharina Dröge, as well as the leader of the group “For a Democratic Belarus”, Robin Wagener. The discussions centered around the implementation of the Bundestag resolution on Belarus, which was adopted two weeks ago.
The parties also discussed the progress with the new Belarusian passport project, the legalization of stay for Belarusians in Germany, and support for political prisoners, including steps that can be taken by the symbolic godparents of political prisoners.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya called on the Greens to support Belarus’ European perspective and make the Belarusian issue an international policy priority in the European Parliament elections.
