During the meeting on November 25, the politicians discussed the legalization of stay for Belarusians in Germany, as well as the issuance of alien passports and legal documents for Belarusian children born in Germany.
The Minister informed Ms. Tsikhanouskaya that the German government has issued instructions to all state institutions for the issuance of all necessary documents, including alien passports, to Belarusians in Germany. Additionally, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya shared details about the project for the new Belarusian passport.
The parties also discussed holding the regime accountable through an international tribunal for its involvement in the displacement of Ukrainian children and crimes against humanity.
Ms. Baerbock and Ms. Tsikhanouskaya talked about cooperation within the G7 and the United Nations, and ways to support political prisoners. The Belarusian leader stressed the dire situation of political prisoners in Belarus, including figures like Siarhei Tsikhanouski, Maryia Kalesnikava, and others, who have been kept incommunicado for a long time.
