The Belarusian leader received the NATO PA “Women for Peace and Security” Award and dedicated it to all Belarusian women:
“Accepting this award today, I can’t help thinking of Israeli men and women, taken hostage by terrorists these days. I really hope that all the prisoners will return home safely.
Our politically imprisoned women are hostages of the terrorist regime in Lukashenka’s quiet war against our people. They are held incommunicado, denied access to lawyers and medical care. I dedicate this award to Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk and many other women like her.
Natallia Pinchuk, the wife of Nobel laureate Ales Bialiatski, it’s your award, too. Being a political prisoner’s wife myself, I know very well what it feels like. There are thousands of women like us in Belarus. And it is their award, too”.
And there are still many more women who voted for me and still believe in our victory. It is all these women that I would like to dedicate this award”.
