Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: We're seeing the prices go up, no matter how hard the regime tries to freeze them. That's because prices do not follow orders and can't be intimidated with batons. We are hearing officials promise that Belarusians should not be afraid of hunger or cold, but we used to hear promises of a $500 minimum wage, high pensions and stipends, and finally, a “peaceful sky over our heads.” One by one, these promises have been getting ruined, and the living standard in Belarus has been falling daily. So maybe the people who have created problems for us should not be trusted to resolve them?"
