  • Results of the Belarusian Anti-War Movement for the week of June 6-12

    Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus' regime.    

    Here is an overview of the Movement for the week of June 6-12.

    Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians

    • Denmark's Foreign Minister assured Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya that Denmark will resume issuing visas to Belarusians. The Danish Foreign Ministry has already announced that Belarusians can get Danish visas in the Danish consulates in other countries. In addition, Denmark will not support the lifting of sanctions against the regime in exchange for the transit of Ukrainian grain.
    • Belarusian comedian Slava Kamisaranka will hold a benefit concert on June 15, at 20:00, in Warsaw, to donate proceeds to Ukraine.
    • Belarusians of the Prague Support Team, Czechia, sent two fully-equipped American medical backpacks, NAR Dragon Handle System evacuation sling, and TacMed Solutions Foxtrot folding stretcher to the combat medics of the Belarus Pahonia regiment in Ukraine.
    • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Advisor Franak Viacorka answered questions about visas and residence permits for Belarusians in the Czech Republic. 
    • The Coordination Council's Majority Movement chat-bot shared the results for three months: Belarusians in the country and abroad completed almost 20 thousand tasks.  
    • Belarusian kickboxer Ivan Hanin put up his silver medal of the 2017 World Championship for a charity auction. The proceeds will be donated to Ukraine.
    • Belarusians in Lviv donated gifts to orphanages.
    • Through a series of Sports for Ukraine auctions, the Tribuna media outlet has raised more than $100,000 for Ukraine. The fundraiser continues with an outstanding set of lots from Andriy Shevchenko, Oleksandr Zinchenko and all the tops of Manchester City, Vitali Klitschko, and many, many others.
    • Belarusians of Denmark and the ŻYVI Foundation collected food and household chemicals for Belarusians in Ukraine.
    • Valery Kavaleuski, Head of the Cabinet of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Representatives, met in Kyiv with Anton Herashchenko, Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. They discussed the extension and obtaining new temporary residence permits, as well as the prospects for obtaining a legal status for Belarusians who are fighting against the Russian occupiers on the territory of Ukraine.
    • Belarusians in Bydgoszcz, Szczecin, Wrocław, Tbilisi, Warsaw, Gdansk, Berlin, Vilnius, and Korea held rallies in support of Ukrainians, Belarusians, and political prisoners.

    Resistance

    • Belarusians in Minsk supported political prisoner Pavel Kuchynski, who was sentenced to 5 years in a high-security prison for comments online. Pavel has stage IV cancer.
    • The Kastus Kalinouski regiment called on Belarusians who could not join the military association to enter the ranks of territorial defense and “people's militia” in Belarus.
    • Minsk residents held a picket in support of Ukraine.
    • Vitsebsk partisans decorated the city with stickers with the national flag.

    Awareness campaign

    • The new issue of the Belarusski Vestnik underground outlet is out, telling about the possible deployment of the Belarusian military in Ukraine, budget of the regime's security agencies, and more. 
    • Volunteers of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Office made a series of safety instructions, with one of them explaining how to stay secure using a VPN.
    • The local newspaper 7 Chizhei released its new issue: it tells about the rallies in support of Belarusians, the story of political prisoner Dzianis Kuchynski, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's thoughts about our future, etc.
    • Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Advisor Oleksiy Arestovych published a post thanking Belarusians for their assistance: “Many Belarusians help us in the war with Russia. A lot of Belarusians help us with intelligence. Disabling the railway infrastructure in areas where Russian weapons were supplied has played a significant role in defending Kyiv''.
    • “Every Belarusian pays a tax because of Lukashenka”. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya explained what the war in Ukraine is already costing Belarusians. 
    • A new issue of the Protestnaya Belarus was released.
    • Ukrainian writer Serhiy Borshchevsky spoke up for Belarusian culture, which might be removed from Ukrainian textbooks on foreign literature: “Lukashenka and his sponsors in Moscow would be glad to see Bykau removed from the school curriculum”.
