Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is currently in Brussels, where she participated in a meeting of the Belarus–EU Consultative Group. This was the third working meeting of representatives of Belarus’ democratic forces and the EU, this time joined by politicians, human rights defenders, and international relations experts from the Western partners.
The issues the working group sought to address during the meeting included:
📎 Repressions and the situation with political prisoners in Belarus;
📎 The Russian threat to the independence and sovereignty of Belarus, Lukashenka’s involvement in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine;
📎 Migration problems, visa issues, and the legalization of stay in EU countries for Belarusians;
📎 Strategy for 2025.
Alongside Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the Belarusian side was represented at the meeting by her Deputies in the United Transitional Cabinet, Valery Kavaleuski and Pavel Latushka, the Cabinet’s Representative for National Revival, Alina Koushyk, and the Cabinet’s Chief of Staff, Valery Matskevich.
