Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is the leader of the Belarusian democratic movement. In August 2020, she ran for president after her husband, Sergei Tikhanovsky, was imprisoned by the authorities. Though the incumbent Alexander Lukashenko declared victory, leaked results and unofficial polling showed that Tikhanovskaya had in fact won the election. Today, Tikhanovskaya shares her story of struggle for freedom and democracy in Belarus.
