  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya about a week without Raman Bandarenka

    November 20, 2020

“It’s been a week since Raman Bandarenka’s death. The country has grieved the whole week. The whole week, the regime was trying to smear his name by calling this crime “a simple bad domestic” or stating that alcohol was found in Raman’s blood.

When one of the medics published the information confirming that there was no alcohol, the prosecutor's office opened a case against him. A journalist writing about it was detained. But no case on the murder was opened.

Raman’s body wasn’t given to the family. The General Prosecutor’s Office dared to announce that the relatives didn’t get in touch with them. The surveillance was set up on the family of the murdered. It’s hard to believe, but that’s the future of Belarus if we don’t repulse them.

At 12:00 Belarus was silent for a minute, but we won’t be silent anymore. We will continue demanding international court trials to stop the lawlessness. We are not able to bring Raman back, but we are able to never let such crimes happen again”.
