  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouksaya’s Office and representatives of the Polish Foreign Ministry discussed the situation with Belarusian refugees

    March 11, 2022

Here is what they mainly discussed.

    • The Polish side stressed that Belarusians would not be deported from Poland. At the same time, Belarusians need to resolve issues with documents and legalization of stay in the country. For information on legalization issues, Belarusians can contact the Center for Belarusian Solidarity and the Belarusian House in Warsaw.
    • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office handed over a letter to the MFA of Poland, proposing amendments to the current legislation to allow Belarusians from Ukraine to live and work in Poland, on the same basis as Ukrainian refugees. On March 11, the Polish Senate was to vote on the amendments to the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens.
    • The Polish government monitors issues of discrimination of Belarusians and separates the illegitimate authorities’ actions from the Belarusian people. Poland condemns discrimination against all those who fled from the war in Ukraine to Poland, as well as repressed Belarusians who live in Poland.
