But we do know that he met and hugged Lukashenka and Baskav, who is suspected of murdering Raman Bandarenka. My position remains unchanged: it is inhuman to hold the World Cup in the country from which the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs orders to make a camp. We have sent letters to the foreign ministries of various countries urging them to oppose the World Cup in Minsk until all political prisoners are released, detentions are over, and free and fair elections are held.
The letter of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was sent to the Foreign Ministries of Canada, Russia, Kazakhstan and European countries qualified to participate in the championship. The letter says that the tournament must be moved to another country, as this jeopardizes the safety of all potential participants and justifies repression in Belarus.
