Deputies of the provisional group “For Democratic Belarus” and representatives of the Belarusian democratic forces held bilateral Belarusian-Lithuanian political consultations.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Representative for the Constitutional Reform and Parliamentary Cooperation Anatoli Liabedzka spoke on the results of the consultations:
– Lithuania will not make discriminatory decisions at the parliamentary and governmental levels against Belarusians.
– Lithuanian MPs will support efforts to allow the democratic forces to replace regime representatives in international organizations.
– An agreement was reached to establish an inter-party center in case the regime in Belarus starts a crackdown on opposition parties. This will prevent their dissolution and liquidation if they are formally shut down.
– The democratic forces and Lithuanian MPs arranged for an address by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya at the plenary session of the Lithuanian Seimas. They also agreed to maintain cooperation to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in resisting the Russian aggression.
– Lithuania will initiate the establishment of a special tribunal to investigate the abductions and murders of the regime's opponents.
