The Belarusian leader addressed the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Portuguese Parliament. The parties agreed that the Committee will adopt a resolution in support of democratic Belarus and Belarusians in exile.
In addition, they agreed to support the group of Friends of Belarus and discussed establishing contacts with Portuguese-speaking countries like Angola and Brazil.
Portuguese lawmakers and Ms. Tsikhanouskaya discussed the possibility of Portuguese MPs visiting Vilnius and Warsaw, where, in particular, they could have meetings with civil society, former political prisoners, and families of those repressed.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya also called for supporting international investigations into the regime’s crimes and emphasized that all its accomplices must be held to account for the abduction of Ukrainian children and crimes against humanity.
