Belarus Days will take place in Brussels from December 9 to 13, organized by the European External Action Service and the European Commission in cooperation with the European Parliament. A series of events will be held as part of the 4th session of the EU Consultative Group for Belarus’ democratic forces, bringing together over 100 representatives of the democratic forces, civil society, independent media, and human rights organizations alongside the political leadership of EU institutions and international organizations.
The events will aim to:
- Highlight the plight of political prisoners in Belarus.
- Maintain pressure on the Lukashenka regime and focus EU attention on the situation in Belarus.
- Convey to the European community that the 2025 presidential election in Belarus cannot be free or fair given the situation in the country.
- Keep Belarus high on the EU agenda as the new European Parliament and European Commission begin their work.
- Present the outcomes of the EU’s political and financial support for the Belarusian people in their quest to build a democratic and sovereign country, along with the preservation of its culture and identity.
