  • Participation in the Munich Security Conference, discussion of the future of security and common strategy in the region with European partners. Progress report of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and her Office for February 13-18th, 2023

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanovskaya took part in a press conference that marked 6 months of the creation of the Joint Transitional Office . There, the reports on the work of the representatives were showcased.

    – On February 16-19th, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya took a business trip to Germany, where she took part in the Munich Security Conference. She met the President of the European Commission, the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs, the newly elected President of the Czech Republic, the President of Slovenia, the German Chancellor and the head of his Chancellery, the Foreign Ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Andorra, Liechtenstein, France, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Malta, the Minister for European Affairs of Austria, President of the Conference of European Rabbis, as well as George Soros, Nancy Pelosi (the former Speaker of the US House of Representatives) and the leadership of Google and YouTube.

    – Tsikhanouskaya participated in several discussions about the freedom of Belarus, Ukraine and the whole of Europe.  She urged European nations to be resolute and consistent with regards to the issues in Belarus. A free and democratic Belarus should become a part of the new European security system. In her speech, Tsikhanouskaya highlighted that Belarus should work to maintain deep and friendly relations with its neighbors, strengthen its state independence, join the Council of Europe and withdraw from the CSTO and the Union State with Russia.

    – On the day of the new “trial” of Siarhei Tsikhanousky, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya turned to him in a video message: “Sergei, I know that we will pull through. I stand with you”. Moreover, she addressed the fact that their apartment in Minsk was put up for auction.

    – At the invitation of President Gitanas Nauseda, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya participated in the celebrations on the Day of the Restoration of Lithuanian Independence. Tsikhanouskaya greeted Lithuania and spoke about the ways in which Lithuania helps the Belarusian people.

     – “Russia is dragging Belarus straight to hell.” In a new video, Alina Gerashchenko, Head of the Foreign Relations Department, and Dmitry Kruk, an employee of BEROC, discussed how the war affects Belarusians, current expectations, and possible remedies.

     – Advisors of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya Kristina Richter and Franak Vyachorka met up with the leadership of the International Platform for Collecting Evidence of Lukashenko's Crimes.  Currently, 17.000 documentary pieces of crime evidence have been collected. This will enable judgment of Lukashenka and his assistants in international courts with the use of the mechanisms of universal jurisdiction.

    – “Freedom postcards” initiative released a report for the last 2 months — they have collected 586 euros which were handed over to the funds helping political prisoners. This money will be sufficient for at least 100 kg of various goods for the detained activists. A campaign to raise more funds for the needs of political prisoners was launched.

     – Anatoli Liabedzka, an advisor of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on inter-parliamentary cooperation, along with a delegation of Belarusian democratic parties, took part in the Euronest session in Chisinau on February 18-21st. In addition to the Belarusian delegation, deputies of the European Parliament, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan were listed among the participants. Lukashenko's parliament was not invited to the Euronest session.

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was interviewed by a few Belarusian media: Belsat, Radio Svaboda (1, 2), she also gave several comments to Pozirk (1, 2, 3, 4).  In addition, a DW documentary about Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was released.
