Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya raised the issue of visas and residence permits for Belarusians, as well as e-Residencies in Estonia. She also touched upon the issue of Belarusian companies' relocation to Estonia. Minister Kristian Jaani assured her that Estonia, like other Baltic states, suspended issuing tourist visas but didn't suspend granting humanitarian visas. Also, Belarusians can obtain employment visas if they provide the necessary documents from the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs first.
E-Residencies are currently not available as the regime has completely curtailed cooperation, rendering verification of applicants impossible. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya noted that the Digital Belarus project is underway, which could potentially solve the verification issue.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya referred the issues from the Belarusian diaspora to the Minister. They agreed to hold a separate meeting with the diaspora and business, and on its basis, form a working group to address these issues.
