  • Results of the Belarusian Anti-War Movement for June 13

    June 14, 2022

Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus' regime.

Here is an overview of the Movement on June 13.

    Support for Belarusians and Ukrainians

    • Svetlana Alexievich received the Jiří Theiner Prize for the freedom of speech and dedicated it to the writers of Ukraine.
    • The BYSOL Foundation donated a car to defenders of Ukraine. The funds for it were raised by Belarusians.
    • Belarusians of London held a traditional demonstration in support of Ukraine.
    • Belarusians of Vilnius came out for a rally to support Ukraine.
    • Belarusians of Bialystok picketed in support of Ukrainians in front of the Consulate General of Belarus.
    • Belarusians of Warsaw took part in a rally in support of Ukrainians and against the war.
    • The Anti-War Declaration of members of the international sports family has already been signed by more than 450 sports representatives.
    • Belarusians in St. Petersburg wrote letters to Belarusian political prisoners who celebrate their birthday in July.

    Resistance

    • Partisans of Kastyukouka came out to a picket in support of political prisoners and Belarusians.
    • In Barauliany, Belarusians held a picket in support of Ukraine.
    • Belarusians of Dziarzhynsk protested against the regime.

    Sabotage

    • The Hajun monitoring project tracked the movements of Russian troops in Belarus for June 12.
    • Hajun also reviewed the state propaganda coverage of the war in Ukraine for June 13. Propagandists accuse Western countries of trying to create a «training ground from the Baltic to the Black Sea» to confront Russia.

    Awareness campaign

    • The Belarusian Jazz Squad holds charity concerts in Ukraine and donates funds to the Azov Battalion.
    • The new issue of the Belarusski Vestnik underground outlet tells how exports and imports have fallen, private businesses are taken away by the enforcement officers, and deputies come up with repressive laws. Belarusians distribute underground media to counter the regime's propaganda.
    • A Zerkalo journalist went with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on a working trip to Riga and told about the visit.
    • A new issue of Chestnaja Gazeta has been released: it tells how Belarus lacks doctors and nurses, how Belarusians defend Ukraine, and what is known about the employee of Naftan, who passed away.
