Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “The regime is trying to address problems in the economy – this time by banning price increases. It might as well ban rains or subzero temperatures. All this has nothing to do with reality and, unfortunately, does not solve the problem. Holding down the prices might only cause shortages, which would make the lives of Belarusians even worse.
The regime can introduce any decrees and regulate prices of anything. But the reality is that these desperate attempts to control the economy only demonstrate the lack of control and failure to handle the situation. Because the one and only source of the political, economic and humanitarian crisis in Belarus is the regime itself. And to solve these problems, the country needs to free itself from the cause”.
