    Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus’ regime. Read the Manifest

    Here is an overview of the Movement on April 8.

    Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians 

    • The Polish Sejm voted for amendments to the laws on the legalization of Belarusians. The Senate and the Polish President are expected to adopt and sign them by the end of the week. The Interior Ministry working group involving the Office representatives will continue its work to help Belarusians in Poland with other significant issues.
    • The UK's Former Prime Minister Tony Blair responded to the inquiry from National Anti-Crisis Management, stating he is already taking steps to deter the Lukashenka regime from participating in the active phase of the ground operation and further escalation of the conflict.
    • In response to the National Anti-Crisis Management's appeal, the British Foreign Office claimed that the regimes that unleashed the war in Ukraine must face complete international isolation.

    Resistance

    • Residents of Minsk hung out a giant Belarus national flag and painted anti-war messages.  
    • The Hajun project, which monitors the movement of Russian troops in Belarus, released an operational summary of the military activity as of April 8. 

    Awareness campaign

    • Belarusian medics who stayed in Ukraine to save Ukrainians explained their choice in an interview for Belsat.
    • The Honest People initiative released a guide on how to talk to relatives affected by propaganda.
    • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya held a call with the Office volunteers. She thanked the volunteers for their work and answered questions. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya, representatives of the Office, and the democratic forces hold such calls regularly.
    • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed Volodymyr Zelenskyy: “Lukashenka can't be a guarantor of peace and must be held accountable for his crimes against both Belarusians and Ukrainians”.
    • The Spotlight of the Regions project covered the situation at the Naftan oil refinery, one of Belarus' largest enterprises. The stoppage is expected in 2-3 months, with the production difficult to re-launch, and a technological catastrophe is possible.
    • The Wall Street Journal spoke with Belarusian volunteers and released a piece about Belarusians defending Ukraine.
