Here is an overview of the Movement for the week of March 7-13.
Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians
- BYSOL Foundation sent to Ukraine three pickups for Belarusian volunteers, an ambulance car, minibus, and evacuation off-roaders. The Foundation has purchased two armored cars for doctors, 75 helmets, 70 bulletproof vests, 323 meters of fabric to sew laundry for the military, 128 kg of baby food, and ordered 5 tons of metal for body armor. All the funds were raised by Belarusians.
- The okdoc.me medical initiative provides free service for Ukrainians and Belarusians.
- Germany will provide a mobile hospital to Belarusian doctors in Ukraine at the request of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. It will be coordinated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Belarusian Medical Solidarity Foundation.
- Around the world, Belarusians join rallies in support of Ukraine and against Russia's military aggression. This week, Belarusians took to the streets in Sacramento, Berlin, Krakow, Bydgoszcz, Edmonton, Ottawa, Vilnius, London, Antwerpen, Chicago, cities of South Korea, Slovenia, and other countries.
- A Country to Live in Foundation, supported by Belarusians of Rome and the Progetto Sud organization, delivered to Warsaw the first 2 tons of aid for Ukrainian refugees.
- For the whole week, the Free Belarus Center has been evacuating 150 people daily from Kyiv using 34 buses and sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
- Pavel Latushka, the National Anti-Crisis Management, and the Coordination Council, as well as Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office, Viktar Babaryka’s HQ, and the diaspora have been in touch with the leadership of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Lithuania, and Germany to simplify visa procedures for Belarusians and support the strategy to prevent discrimination against Belarusians.
- Flo, Belarusian company, donated 100,000 dollars to the Ukrainian Red Cross and made the premium version of the application free for Ukrainian women for the next 3 years.
- Within the working visit to the UK, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya supported the call of President Zelenskyy's call to close the airspace over Ukraine, and urged the UK’s leadership to assist Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine with ammunition, means of protection and communication.
- The Mutual Emergence Aid team has been supporting Belarusian activists who fled from Ukraine after February 24.
Mobilization
- People in Minsk, Vitsebsk, Homiel, Maladzechna, Brest, and other cities of Belarus have been distributing anti-war leaflets and writing anti-war slogans in public places.
- Cyber attacks and sabotage forced Belarusian Railway to stop hauling military echelons with Russian equipment and ammunition.
- 20,000 Belarusians are completing tasks from the Coordination Council’s chatbot. Belarusians blocked five propaganda channels and distributed anti-war leaflets.
- The White Coats community of healthcare workers released an overview of Belarusian assistance to Ukraine. They donate blood, doctors help Ukrainian colleagues, evacuate and accommodate refugees, as well as provide free medical online consultations.
- The Honest People initiative released a guide (text, video) for Belarusians who can be conscripted by the Belarusian army.
