Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya thanked the Czech Republic for the country's support of Belarus since 2020. She also highlighted that the Czech Republic took in the wounded Belarusians and the repressed Belarusian students. At the same time, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya noted that she receives many requests regarding the Czech Republic's refusals of visas to Belarusians, including journalists and activists. The national leader of Belarus urged Minister Lipavský to support the strategy against discrimination against Belarusians. “It is extremely important to distinguish between Lukashenka’s regime and the Belarusian people who oppose it”, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya stressed.
From July, the Czech Republic will preside over the European Union. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya calls on the country to promote Belarus and Ukraine in the EU foreign policy priorities. She quoted Václav Havel, who always noted the importance of Belarus for Europe.
They also discussed the issue of establishing a representative office of the Belarusian democratic forces in the Czech Republic. Czech President Miloš Zeman proposed this initiative last year.
