At the farewell to Madeleine Albright, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya spoke with Former President Bill Clinton and 67th Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya mentioned that Mr. Clinton remains the only US President to have ever been to Belarus and noted Clinton’s visit to Kurapaty, a site on the outskirts of Minsk where the Soviet secret police used to execute writers, artists, journalists, scientists, civil servants, and other people. The national leader of Belarus added that Belarusians remember Mr. Clinton’s visit well.
